Description
A Speyside single malt of rare elegance, shaped by 39 years of maturation
Linkwood, a historic distillery in Speyside
Founded in 1821 by Peter Brown in Elgin, in the heart of Speyside, Linkwood is an emblematic distillery of Scottish whisky. Production began in 1825, followed by a reconstruction by his son William in 1872. In 1933, it joined Scottish Malt Distillers, today Diageo. Linkwood stands out for its use of water from the Millbuies spring and its extended fermentation methods, favoring complex aromas. With a capacity of 5.6 million liters, it mainly produces for blending, with only 2% of its production in single malt, making its limited editions sought-after treasures.
A treasure from the Gordon & MacPhail collection
This 39-year-old Linkwood is part of the prestigious Connoisseurs Choice range from Gordon & MacPhail, an independent trader known for its rigorous selection of exceptional casks. Distilled in 1981 and bottled in 2020, this single malt represents the culmination of a patient maturation process overseen by several generations of cellar masters.
An exemplary maturation
The maturation of this Scottish whisky took place exclusively in carefully selected American oak casks, allowing the distillate to develop remarkable aromatic complexity while preserving the characteristic fruity character of Linkwood. For nearly four decades, the whisky has slowly evolved, enriching itself with the tannins of the wood while maintaining an astonishing freshness.
A presentation that matches its content
Offered in an elegant luxury box, this 39-year-old Linkwood is presented as the treasure it is. Bottled at its natural strength of 53.2%, without cold filtration or coloring, it represents the purest and most authentic expression of what this historic Speyside distillery can offer after almost four decades of patience.
