The producer
Established in Puligny-Montrachet since 1635, the Domaine Olivier Leflaive has perpetuated the tradition of great Burgundy wines by offering one of the most beautiful expressions of chardonnay in the world. At the head of an essential estate in Burgundy, Olivier Leflaive has established himself as an emblematic figure of the Côte de Beaune. Patiently built up, Olivier Leflaive's vineyard now extends over 17 hectares of vines located on the greatest terroirs of Burgundy.
The vineyard
"Les Folatières" 2022 from Olivier Leflaive is a Puligny-Montrachet wine 1er cru from a 17.64 hectare vineyard, located between 250 and 300 metres above sea level, and whose 36-year-old vines on average rest on clay-limestone soils.
The vintage
The year 2022 is marked by higher than average seasonal temperatures, episodes of frost in early April and a particularly sunny summer.
Vinification and ageing
Manual harvest followed by pressing. Vinification in whole harvest. Static settling of 24h before alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. Ageing of 18 months (including 6 months en masse) in barrels (including 25% new).
Blend
Chardonnay (100%).
