Description
A precise and structured Napa Valley wine by Staglin Family Vineyard
The estate
In 1985 Staglin family acquired an estate founded in 1864 in the heart of the winemaking area of Rutherford Bench in Napa Valley. The ambition of the Staglin Family Vineyard is to produce great Californian wines while respecting the work begun by the estate founders.
The vineyard
Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 de Staglin Family Vineyard is a Napa Valley wine coming from a 24-hectare vineyard, run on biological agriculture practices, sitting on the west side of the highest mountain in the Mayacamas, Mount St. John.
The vintage
After a dry winter and a rainy spring, this Californian vintage enjoyed ideal flowering conditions. The mild summer allowed the grapes to ripen slowly with the lowest sugar level and the highest acidity, transferring a freshness and aromatic expression to the wines.
Winemaking and ageing
Ageing over 21 months in French oak, of which 89% were new casks.
Blend
Cabernet sauvignon (87%),
Cabernet franc (9%),
Petit verdot (4%)
