Description
The finesse and minerality of an exceptional rosé champagne by Jolie, Pitt and Perrin
The wine
The only Champagne House exclusively dedicated to Rosé Champagne, Fleur de Miraval is the result of an ambitious project born from the partnership between the Jolie-Pitt and Perrin families. Conceived as a piece of art with the full involvement of Brad Pitt, Fleur de Miraval embodies the culmination of five years of research and hard work, carried out in the greatest secrecy. The Péters family, based in the Mesnil-sur-Oger area of Champagne for the past six generations and involved with the harvests since 1919, joined the Jolie-Pitt and Perrin adventure, lending the team their own unique expertise and wine-making know-how. A long-time lover of Château de Beaucastel wines and close friend of the Perrin family, Rodolphe Péters collaborated closely in the project. The Fleur de Miraval ER1 Rosé was born from the desire to produce a rosé champagne with a different style, combining old-vine Chardonnay with young Pinot Noir. This cuvée also pays tribute to the Comtesse de Miraval, born in Provence and who, according to legend, only drank rosé champagne. A very rare fine wine, Fleur de Miraval ER1 is available in limited quantities with only 20,000 bottles produced for this first edition. The Fleur de Miraval ER1 comes in a black lacquered bottle to protect the precious champagne inside from damaging light until it is opened.
The blend
75% chardonnay of different ages and 25% young pinot noir.
The ageing
Three years of ageing on lees before it hits the market.
The tasting
The Fleur de Miraval ER1 reveals a subtle pink colour. The Fleur de Miraval ER1 presents a delicate and lively aromatic bouquet, offering beautiful notes of fresh and tangy red berry fruit, like redcurrant and raspberry. Noble Chardonnay is expressed through mineral, saline and iodised notes, echoing the fruit’s great chalky terroirs of origin.
