Duval-Leroy: 165 years of history at the heart of the Côte des Blancs
Founded in 1859, Maison Duval-Leroy is part of Champagne’s history as one of the rare Houses to have maintained its independence, a legacy preserved for over 165 years.
In 1991, Carol Duval-Leroy took the helm of the House and asserted her vision based on a fundamental triptych: protect, perfect, and transmit. Together with her cellar master, Sandrine Logette-Jardin, she enhances each year the three emblematic Champagne grape varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier) to reveal all their finesse and elegance.
Today, the next generation is ensured with her three sons, Julien, Charles, and Louis. Faithful to the family legacy, they bring new energy to the house, combining respect for tradition with creative ambition. Together, they continue to uphold the excellence of the Duval-Leroy style through exceptional Champagnes.
An innovative spirit in Champagne
Cutting-edge Cuvées
A pioneer in Champagne, Maison Duval-Leroy has always known how to combine innovation and excellence. A forerunner in the enhancement of crus, it created Fleur de Champagne Premier Cru, an iconic cuvée that is celebrating its centenary. Staying true to its avant-garde spirit, it was also one of the first houses to offer a certified organic Brut: the Brut AB Bio.
Committed Environmental Practices
Under the leadership of Carol Duval-Leroy, the first woman appointed president of the Champagne Winegrowers Association, the House is fully committed to sustainable viticulture, obtaining HVE certification, and passionately promoting the richness of its terroir.
Duval-Leroy stands out for its innovative approach to managing its estate, equipping its winery with cutting-edge facilities: a photovoltaic solar power plant, a rainwater recovery system, and a green wall ensuring optimal insulation. Its commitment to excellence is also reflected in its rigor in quality and food safety, recognized by numerous certifications such as ISO 9002, IFS, BRC, and ISO 22000.
From Vine to Glass: A Masterwork
For 20 years, Sandrine Logette-Jardin, the cellar master of Maison Duval-Leroy, has overseen vinifications with exemplary consistency, enhancing the brilliance and purity of the House’s style. Chardonnay reigns supreme, creating wines of great precision. Made without fining or filtration, they age for extended periods in the cellar, sometimes for over ten years for the grand cuvées.
Driven by this pursuit of excellence, Maison Duval-Leroy unveils unique creations: organic bottles, parcel cuvées, and environmentally respectful elaborations. Maison Duval-Leroy thus combines inspiration and commitment, crafting its Champagnes with rigor and patience, never yielding to shortcuts.
From vine to glass, every detail is meticulously controlled with the utmost precision, resulting in wines designed to enhance the finest gastronomic moments.
The Duval-Leroy Style: Unique Champagnes
"There is a brilliance, an incomparable salinity. The wines are precise, fresh, chalky, structured, with a personality and radiance all their own. Vertical, elongated, they speak the language of their origins." Sandrine Logette-Jardin, the cellar master, characterizes the Duval-Leroy style as a contemporary approach with a highly gastronomic focus.
