Description
A great rosé champagne with a wonderful finesse and complexity
The estate
The Krug Champagne House was founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a man of vision and passion. It holds a library that is unique in the world, comprising more than 150 reserve wines, some of which are over 15 years old.
The vineyard
With over 250 different plots, including the prestigious Clos du Mesnil and Clos d'Ambonnay, Krug has an exceptional heritage of vineyards in Champagne.
The wine
Born of the fifth generation's dream of creating an original rosé champagne that could be made every year, this cuvée harmoniously combines elegance and boldness. This Krug Rosé 21st Edition is made from the 2008 harvest.
The vintage
A mild winter preceded a cloudy spring. The summer was marked both by cool weather, which slowed down the vegetative cycle, and by a major hail storm in the village of Sainte-Gemme, renowned for its Meunier plots. The mild weather from mid-September onwards allowed the grapes to ripen and ensured that the vineyards were in exceptionally good health.
Blend
Pinot Noir
Chardonnay
Pinot Meunier
This blend is completed by an Ay plot, vinified as a red wine, which gives this champagne its beautiful colour, its persistence and its delicious spicy notes.
