Clos Rougeard is an illustrious reference among the great wines of Saumur and Saumur Champigny. Attesting to a rich winegrowing past dating back to the 17th century, the Clos Rougeard, under the Foucault family and since 2017 under Martin and Olivier Bouygues, advocates a strong commitment to organic farming, giving rise to wines whose excellence equals their rarity.

The vineyard

Les Poyeux 2016 from Clos Rougeard is a Saumur-Champigny wine from its eponymous plot, which has been recognised since the 17th century for the quality of its wines.  This exceptional terroir, covering almost two hectares, is planted on a gentle slope on clay-limestone soil.
