Description
The character and precision of a great Margaux wine
The property
Third Grand Cru Classé in the Official Classification of 1855, Château Palmer is a true star of the Margaux appellation, on the left bank of the Bordeaux region. With beginnings in biodynamics started in 2009, Château Palmer chose to convert the entire vineyard as of 2014. After building its legend on vintages that have become mythical, Château Palmer continues to write its history under the direction of the talented Thomas Duroux.
The vineyard
Benefiting from an exceptional terroir located in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde estuary, this Margaux property has a rather unusual grape variety in Médoc, giving pride of place to Merlot, which stands alongside Cabernet Sauvignon in equal proportions (47%) associated with Petit Verdot (6%).
Blend
Merlot (44%), Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) and Petit Verdot (6%).
Characteristics and tasting advice for Château Palmer 2015
Tasting
A vintage remarkable for its balance, with a refined density on the palate and the overall impression of a wine that fits into the magical "5" vintages as Bordeaux has known. Without a doubt, Palmer 2015 is in many ways a wine on par with Palmer 2005, 2009 and 2010. A wine of rare breed and depth.
