Description
A great Margaux wine combining power and concentration
The property
The Château Palmer is a true star of the Margaux appellation, on the left bank of the Bordeaux region. With the beginnings of biodynamics started in 2009, Château Palmer chose to convert the entire vineyard as early as 2014. After building its legend on vintages that have become mythical, Château Palmer continues to write its history under the direction of the talented Thomas Duroux.
The vineyard
Benefiting from an exceptional Margaux terroir located in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde estuary, Château Palmer has an unusual grape variety in Médoc, giving pride of place to merlot (47%), which is alongside cabernet sauvignon in equal proportions (47%) associated with petit verdot (6%).
The vintage
An exceptional vintage for Château Palmer. After a rainy winter and a spring marked by incessant rains promoting virulent mildew, the hot and dry summer allows exceptional maturation of the grapes. The vine, concentrating its energy on the remaining bunches, gives birth to a material of unprecedented power. Faced with this extraordinary quality, an unprecedented decision is made: all the batches integrate the blend of the great wine. A historic vintage for the property.
Blend
This Château Palmer 2018 is a blend of merlot (40%), cabernet sauvignon (53%) and petit verdot (7%).
