Palate
On the palate, the wine shines with its vivacity. The citrus aromas are precise and tonic, supported by a beautiful minerality, and end on a persistent and balanced finish.
A full-bodied and beautifully fresh Côtes de Provence rosé
The property
Young Alsatian agricultural engineer, Marcel Ott settled in 1896 with the ambition to restore the image of the Bandol appellation, then devastated by phylloxera. Even today, the Ott family continues this know-how to produce a range of rosé, red and white wines from three estates, Château de Selle, Clos Mireille and Château Romassan. Created by René Ott in the 1930s, the emblematic bottle of the Domaines Ott*, recognizable among all, signs the quality of these great wines. In 2004, Domaines Ott* joined the Louis Roederer house.
The vineyard
Acquired in 1956 by the Ott family, Château Romassan is located west of the Var. The 74-hectare vineyard is planted on very large terroirs with limestone, sandstone, marl and gravel soils that give birth to racey, powerful Bandol wines with a good aging potential.
Vinification and aging
The grapes are hand-picked and carefully sorted to guarantee impeccable quality. Vinification is carried out in accordance with tradition, with low-temperature fermentation to preserve the aromas. Aging is done in stainless steel tanks on fine lees for several months, to bring roundness and complexity to this Côtes de Provence wine.
