The estate

Built under the reign of Napoleon III, Château Minuty was bought in 1936 by Gabriel Farnet who undertook to restore it to its former splendour. In 1955 the estate joined the small circle of 23 Crus Classés of the Côtes de Provence appellation. Then the property was acquired by Monique and Etienne Matton who, thanks to their dedicated work, contributed greatly to establishing the reputation of Château Minuty among the fashionable society of the Côte d'Azur. Today, the brothers Jean-Etienne and François Matton have taken over the reins of the estate, combining tradition with a modern spirit.

The vineyard

The 160 hectare vineyard of Château Minuty lies on the peninsula of Saint Tropez, in Provence. On the hillsides of Gassin and Ramatuelle, the vineyard benefits from a Mediterranean climate. With a south-western exposure, the sea breezes coming from the coast preserve the health of the grapes throughout the year. The soils are varied between schist and limestone which allows the different grape varieties to be grown where they flourish best.

M 2022 from Minuty is a Côtes de Provence wine that stems from vines cultivated in sustainable viticulture methods, as are all the estate’s vineyards, and cared for in a preserved environment with a rich ecosystem. To ensure optimal and consistent quality, a massal selection is made from a collection of Grenache grapes that are on average 30 years old.

Winemaking and ageing

Les raisins sont vendangés manuellement. Après une légère macération pelliculaire, les jus sont soigneusement débourbés et subissent une fermentation alcoolique à basse température. Produite en appellation IGP Var, la cuvée Blanc et Or de Minuty est constituée à 100% de jus de goutte. The grapes were harvested by hand. After a light skin maceration, the juice was carefully settled and underwent alcoholic fermentation at a low temperature. Produced in the IGP Var appellation, the Blanc et Or de Minuty is made up of 100% free-run juice.

Tasting

Nose
Fine and elegant, the nose has a lovely aromatic richness.

Palate
Full and airy, the palate unveils a great balance and iodine and aniseed notes at the finish.

Serve between 8° and 12 °C.

Food and wine pairing

Blanc et Or 2022 from Minuty pairs perfectly with sea urchin and oysters, but also goes with pissaladière, foie gras or raw meats - tartare or carpaccio.
