The property
Podere Giodo, founded in 2002 by eminent oenologist Carlo Ferrini, extends over 5.5 hectares in the hills of Montalcino, at an altitude of 300 to 400 meters. The first harvest took place in 2009, with a focus on the production of Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino. The estate stands out for its traditional and environmentally respectful approach, using 15 carefully selected sangiovese clones.
The vineyard
The Brunello di Montalcino comes from vines planted on clay-limestone soils composed of pebbles, which give the wines remarkable minerality and elegance.
Vinification and aging
The Brunello di Montalcino is vinified, aged and bottled exclusively in the municipality of Montalcino, according to the strict rules of the appellation which require a minimum aging of 5 years before marketing.
