Located in Mendoza, the Zuccardi estate has become, over the generations, one of the most recognised producers of great wines in Argentina.
Born into a visionary, forward-looking family, Sebastián Zuccardi is the third generation of winemakers at this family estate, whose history began in 1963 when his grandfather planted the first hectares of vines in Maipú.
Through a constant quest for excellence and unfailing determination, two strong values within the family, the Zuccardi estate has grown steadily to become one of the biggest names in the production of wines that reflect the rich terroirs of the Valle de Uco.
Since January 2000, Sebastián Zuccardi has been at the head of a vineyard of over 200 hectares, one of the highest in the world, at the foot of the Andes, benefiting from a cold, dry climate and a wide temperature range. Each of the Zuccardi family's great wines comes from a number of micro-terroirs with soils that are rich in a wide range of intrinsic characteristics. Their aim is to authentically express the specific characteristics of their terroir of origin, and to reflect the unique and perfect alchemy between the terroir, the soil, the altitude, the climate and the work carried out with rigour and passion by the estate's teams.
Sebastián Zuccardi produces red and white wines from a wide range of grape varieties: Malbec, Torrontés, Cabernet Franc, Tempranillo, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, etc.
Since 2008, the estate has had a research and development unit dedicated to analysing and classifying terroirs, as well as optimising practices in the vineyard (controlled irrigation, choice of grape varieties based on their adaptability to the terroir, length of harvest and choices in refining the style of the wines).
Opened in 2016, the winery is a respectful tribute to the surrounding mountains, which are the source of the region's climate and geological features. Built from local stone, the cellar houses conical cement vats and amphorae, the result of many years of research to define the ideal shape for working the juices as naturally as possible, while limiting human intervention to preserve the characteristics of each vineyard and enhance their expression during vinification.
Recognised as one of South America's finest winemakers, Sebastián Zuccardi produces wines that are adored by connoisseurs and acclaimed by critics, as evidenced by Robert Parker's 100/100 rating for the "Finca Piedra Infinita 2016" vintage.
Voted best vineyard in South America in 2019 and 2020, the Zuccardi family estate was voted best vineyard in the world in 2021 for the 3rd year running.
