Description
The freshness and finesse of a rosé Champagne wine
The estate
In the depths of its 3 kilometres of underground chalk tunnels of Gallo-Roman origin, the high-quality Joseph Perrier Champagne House perpetuates a know-how and a respect for tradition which has been transmitted from generation to generation. Each plot is vinified separately so that the identity of each of the Champagne terroirs can be expressed, with bespoke ageing processes.
The wine
The Royale Brut Rosé champagne is a prestigious cuvée that stems from a family plot, "La Chèvre," located in Cumières, a famous Champagne vineyard.
Winemaking and ageing
Made up of 20% reserve wines, this cuvée was aged for 36 months in the house cellars. The dosage of this Brut Champagne is 7 g/litre.
Blend
Chardonnay (40%)
Pinot Meunier (40%)
Pinot Noir (40%), of which around 10% vinified as red wine
Characteristics and tasting tips for Cuvée Royale Brut Rosé by Joseph Perrier
Tasting
Colour
The champagne is beautifully elegant, with golden highlights. The effervescence is lively and delicate.
Nose
Harmonious and expressive, the nose reveals notes of fresh red berries that evolve into delicate fragrances of violet and liquorice.
Palate
The lively attack in the mouth delights with the balance between tension and acidity. The mid-palate exudes flavoursome red fruit notes, which actively lead to a glorious finish, combining freshness and minty notes.
Food and wine pairing
This Royale Brut Rosé pairs perfectly with white meats and not too sweet desserts.
To serve
For the best tasting, this champagne should be chilled in an ice bucket for 20 minutes before being served at between 8 and 10°C.
