Description
An Elegant and Harmonious Chateau Troplong Mondot
A prestigious property located on the rare terroirs of Bordeaux’s Right Bank in the Saint-Emilion appellation, Chateau Troplong Mondot is one of those estates recognised for their identity and style apart, among the most famous names in the Bordeaux region.
In a region where most of the properties span over barely ten hectares, Chateau Troplong Mondot covers an impressive 33 hectares. The vines are planted in the exceptional clay-limestone soil that lends a very unique quality famous among the wines of Saint-Emilion.
Chateau Troplong Mondot 2013 is made from a blend of 90% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc.
The very last vintage of this wine made by Christine Valette, the Chateau Troplong Mondot 2013 is a superb success, clearly expressing the talent of the winemaker, as well as the climatic conditions of the year, marked by a cold and rainy spring, followed by a hot and dry summer.
This singular vintage reveals fruity wines with a fine and elegant structure. The aromatic palette expresses the intensity of dark berries, along with fresh menthol and spicy notes of white pepper. On the palate, the wine reveals a structure of great finesse, with delicate and superbly integrated tannins. The finish ends with a nice minerality typical of the clay-limestone soils of Saint-Emilion. A wine with charming elegance that will reach its peak between 2022 and 2030.
