Tasting

Nose
The young and expressive nose reveals aromas of red plums, fresh herbs, and blueberries.

Palate
In the mouth, red fruit dominates with an energetic acidity that brings dynamism and freshness. The tannins, although young, are perfectly integrated, giving this wine a harmonious and balanced structure.

For optimal tasting, serve at 18°C.

The estate

Since its acquisition by the Álvares family in 1982, Vega Sicilia has continued to grow and establish its international reputation. Today, a continuous search for excellence, a beautiful harmony with nature, rigorous and unwavering dedication make the Spanish estate a prestigious reference. Over the years, other vineyards such as Pintia have come to embrace and magnify the philosophy of Vega Sicilia. Thus, the extreme care given to the vines as well as to the winemaking signs the great wines of Spain that come from unique lands.

The wine

Alión from Vega Sicilia is a Ribera del Duero wine made from a rigorous selection of exceptional vineyards spread over an area of 130 hectares, 70 of which are on the estate. The soils of this terroir benefit from fluvial, colluvial and wind influences. The vines, averaging 40 years old, are planted on clay-limestone soils whose good water regulation promotes early maturation of the berries.

Vinification and aging

Aging in barrels and cement cellars for 12 to 14 months.

100% tinto fino (tempranillo).
