Description

A Premier Cru Blanc de Noirs Champagne from Vintage 2011, made of 100% Pinot Noir of great purity

The property

In the depths of its 3 kilometres of underground chalk tunnels of Gallo-Roman origin, the prestigious Champagne Joseph Perrier carefully guards a know-how and respect for tradition handed down over many generations. Each plot is vinified and aged separately to express the identity of each terroir.

The vineyard

The Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature 2011 is produced from the best Pinot Noir grapes of the estate, harvested from the “La Côte à Bras” plot in Cumières. Located at the foot of the famous Montagne de Reims, the town is classified as a Champagne Premier Cru.

The vintage

A historic vintage in Champagne, 2011 was quite extraordinary. Climatic conditions varied highly throughout the season and the harvest was one of the earliest since 1822.

The winemaking

With only 7,475 bottles produced, the Joseph Perrier Cumières Premier Cru “La Côte à Bras” Brut Nature Blanc de Noirs 2011 is aged for at least 90 months on lees! As the name suggests, no dosage has been added.

The grape varieties

100% pinot noir.

The tasting

The Joseph Perrier 2011 Royale Blanc de Noirs cuvée should be stored on its side in a cellar without light and at a constant temperature. It is best enjoyed at an ideal temperature between 10 and 12 ° C.

The Colour
This 2011 vintage champagne displays a beautiful golden colour, even straw yellow, with bright amber reflections.
The Nose
With a core of citrus fruits, such as grapefruit or mandarin, the Cuvée Royale Blanc de Noirs 2011 offers a nose of great aromatic freshness.
The Palate
Thanks to its very long ageing on lees, this champagne offers a very pleasant vinous texture on the palate, balanced by a great deal of straightforwardness, liveliness, purity and mineral tension. It stretches out into a harmonious finish, exuding a lemony freshness that has become the signature of the Joseph Perrier estate.

Food Pairings

The Cuvée Royale Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature "La Côte à Bras" Cumières Premier Cru 2011 by Joseph Perrier will go perfectly with seafood. The house suggests pairings like spider crab with fennel cream or even spaghetti with bottarga and lemon zest.
